Can You Guess Who Shredded the Dogbed??

Foozie and Spaatz
Can you guess which one of these handsome lads might of shredded the dog bed? They look so innocent don't they. Sweet Foozie on the left in red. The original troublemaker, still the go to guy if the trash has been gotten into, but has settled down a bit now that he's five years old. When we first got him he picked on Miss Peaches terribly, would bite her butt and yank on her ears . Now that he stopped, we got Spaatz. Spaatz, the new kid on the block since 2010, will be 2 in June. He currently terrorizes Miss Peachy, don't get me wrong, she can take care of herself. She enjoys sparring with him, he can be relentless though, then she'll get nasty with him and he backs off. He is the royal destroyer of anything that squeaks. Its his mission in life, this includes small woodland creatures, which he's only had a couple of close encounters with.
The Boys- Partners in Crime.
Now if your guess was Spaatz, you would be right. Spaatz does like to shred things, sometimes they don't even have to squeak. Now mind you the worst part, after cleaning up all the foam bits all over the kitchen is that I made this bed for them when I got a great deal on some 4" foam and made a cover from some bright outdoor fabric. He opened the velcro at the end and proceeded to bite little bits of foam out and send them strewing all over the place. It wasn't the welcome I had in mind when I walked through the door.

Dachshund prevents owner from getting work done

Spaatz, blocking the computer
My sweet Spaatz, not only does he run like the wind, but he can jump up on my lap like he is defying gravity. Then the next thing you know he's on the desk sniffing around. I try to keep him off the keyboard, I can screw things up enough on my own. No need for the dog to sit on the keys. This day he decided to make himself to home. This way I wouldn't have to strain myself to rub his body all over for him. I obliged him for a while, then sent him packing to hang out with his buddies in the sunshine.

INTRODUCING: SWEET TIME

Sweet Time
If you haven't met her before, here she is... Sweet Time, otherwise affectionately know as Miss Peachy. This is a new nickname for her which comes from the way she mosies back to the house when called. She just about always takes her sweet time coming back. Foozie is just about always the first back in anticipation of a biscuit, Spaatz is a speed demon, you can hear blades of grass being cut as he flies over top. Even if he is the furthest away he can be the first back, its a sight to behold. But Miss Peach ambles back as she pleases because she knows she is a superior being and that the biscuit is there for her anyway because I am putty in her paws. I have a theory its a wirehair thing, my old wirehair Watson was exactly the same way. He would go for his little excursions and get back, you know, whenever. Peach just needs to be very thorough, sniffing everything that needs to be sniffed and peeing everywhere the boys did. She doesn't like to be rushed. I must say that when she decides to motivate and run in she surprises me, she can move when she wants to, she usually just doesn't want to.
Peaches, stalking anything that moves.

DACHSHUNDS MAKE THE WORLD A HAPPIER PLACE!

Miss Peachy, Spaatz and Foozer
It occurred to me while we were on our walk the other day that I was helping, by bringing the dogs out for a walk, I was brightening the day of people as they drove by and saw them. So many people had a big smile on their faces as they checked out the dogs as they passed. That was a nice feeling. Its  nice, when during your busy day you see something that just makes you smile, takes your mind off whatever for a moment. That's what Dachshunds can do, especially when you've got a bunch of them. Its a "Hey look at those wienerdogs moment". Most of my day is moments like that, so I am lucky, they're just great to have around. Have a happy Dachshund kind of day!
