What you call a "pack animal"?

Foozie-B, loves to be with his Dad. I know why dogs get the name Shadow, that's what he does, but to be safer on the mower I stuffed him in a backpack and he was totally content to hang out, being close to Dad, and the altitude was an added bonus. Dachshunds do like to have a bird's eye view, so to speak. Gives a guy a whole new perspective, instead of straining to see over the tops of the grass if its not been cut in a timely fashion you can see everything. I joke that Fooze should be duct taped to Jerry's back to he can be as close as possible, the pack works just about as well, I zipped him in all snuggly. Either that or we wrap him up like a papoose. I'm sure he'd be fine with that.

I look down and I see my wiener!

I look down and see my wiener, and its on the floor. Since I am female I am awful glad that as I look under the bottom edge of my dress I see my favorite black and tan, dapple, with one blue eye, mini dachshund, Spaatz. Also known as Babyman, Goopey, Spaatzen, Spaatzle, Sputzie and probably a few other things. This is where he likes to sit when I am doing things in the kitchen. It's probably a combination of him feeling safe there and his guarding me. I am his person. Make no mistake about that. Spaatz and Miss Peachy are in cahoots and anyone who dare to challenge them can kiss their ankles goodbye.
One handsome dude and his girl.

Aww, Hot Dog!!

You know my Foozie boy is a sun worshipper, but this week as certainly put this to the test. Although he has still gone out and found himself a comfy spot on the lawn to lay out. He only lasts a few minutes and he's perfectly willing to head back into the house. We did have one day where it did top 100 degrees. I say you have to be nuts buddy. Hopefully next week it will not be so hot and he can keep his awesome tan going.
Roll your bod.

DACHSHUND BOWLING

This will be about as close as Miss Peachy is going to get to bowling. Its a funny thing, I used to have a standard wire hair dachshund named Watson. He would always sleep like this with his head out of the dog bed on the floor. I used to have to ask him to pick his head up so I could go by with the vacuum. Now here's Miss Peachy laying the same way, her head just happened to end up in the bowl. My two smoothie boys don't ever lay like this, but both my wire hairs do it regularly. I wonder if anyone else has noticed this behavior.

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!!

My Three Doxsons wishing everyone a safe and happy 4th, and if you live in the east dry, if your in the southwest you can have all our rain for at least a week. Spaatz on the left, trying hard to look like the general he was named after, Miss Peaches as our blond beauty waiting at home and Foozeball, sidekick to the general. Spaatz even though he has the good looks to be general, he most likely would be comic relief. Who ever heard of a general with the nickname "Goopy"

The Dachshund Alarm Clock

When the dachshund alarm clock goes off you have no choice but to get up. Especially when it a three pronged attack. I was laying in bed, awake basically, ready to get up, but not moving. You know what that's like. Then all of a sudden the boys are up in my face armed with long tongues attempting to lick me. Then, Miss Peaches comes climbing up on me from the other side looking for her share of the fun. Next thing I know I'm definitely awake and laughing. They're jumping all over me and flapping they're ears as part of the wake up call. Now mind you they have a really awesome internal clock so they're timing is perfect. I think if everyone were to wake up this way the world would be in a better mood.
You lick her face, I'll sniff her ear.
